MMG Contracts were appointed by Lidl Northern Ireland to deliver site clearance and highway enabling works (DFI) for their proposed new store in Newcastle, Co. Down. The project included the full demolition of an existing primary school, with all materials carefully segregated and recycled in line with environmental and regulatory standards.
Works also involved the resurfacing of the site entrance and access road, complete with new line marking to improve traffic flow and accessibility, along with the installation of new kerbing, manholes, and a comprehensive drainage system. Delivered safely and efficiently, the project enhanced both the appearance and operational readiness of the site, supporting Lidl Northern Ireland’s ongoing investment in high-quality retail infrastructure.
